The Shang Lab in the Department of Biostatistics and the Yuan Lab in the Department of Translational Molecular Pathology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center are seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher role.

This collaborative project aims to understand how the immune microenvironment influences the development of immune evasion and resistance to therapies.

The ideal candidate will concentrate on the development and application of computational tools to analyze immune responses in cancer, utilizing cutting-edge deep learning techniques and spatial omics.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Innovate computational techniques to merge spatial transcriptomics with histopathological imaging data.
  • Perform analyses to identify and characterize various immune processes across different cancer types.
  • Publish and present research outcomes in reputable scientific journals and at conferences.


Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, promoting open communication and mutual respect to ensure effective teamwork and cooperation.


Qualifications:
  • Recent (or soon-to-be) Ph.D. graduate with formal training in one or more of the following fields: Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computational Pathology, Computer Science, Genomics, Genetics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in genomic analysis, image processing, machine learning, or bioinformatics, particularly in biomedical and translational contexts.
  • Familiarity with spatial transcriptomics and histopathological image analysis is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, C++, etc.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting.

Salary:
MD Anderson adheres to the NIH stipend levels as outlined by the Kirchstein – NRSA. This full-time trainee position offers a salary range between $65,000 and $74,088, depending on years of postgraduate experience.
