Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Float Teller at M&T Bank. As a key member of our branch team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers and resolving routine problems in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized service to customers, understanding their needs and delivering solutions that meet their expectations.
  • Process a variety of financial transactions accurately and efficiently, including cash handling and data entry.
  • Actively engage in lobby management, meeting and greeting customers, and proactively addressing their immediate needs.
  • Take ownership of escalated account services issues, ensuring timely resolution and accurate logging of customer complaints.
  • Transition identified sales opportunities to appropriate banking partners, promoting cross-selling and upselling initiatives.
  • Complete branch-related operational activities, including cash ordering, vault management, ATM maintenance, and wire transfer activities.
  • Process customer/account maintenance accurately, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls, maintaining a high level of integrity and professionalism.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and minimum of 6 months customer service experience, including data entry and/or cash handling experience.
  • Ability to easily travel between branches on an as needed basis.
  • Proven verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and colleagues.
  • Proven interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service, with a focus on empathy, customer centricity, and flexibility.
  • Well-organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Proven time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  • Proven prioritization skills, with the ability to focus on high-priority tasks and activities.
  • Proficient with internet user-level technology, with the ability to navigate and utilize various software applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual based on branch needs.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Prolonged use of hands and fingers.
  • Ability to lift light to heavy objects weighing 5lbs – 30lbs.
  • Ability to read fine print.
  • Ability to interact with customers in an open face-to-face work environment.
Compensation

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $25.76 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
