Position Summary

The Financial Record Specialist will be responsible for overseeing precise financial documentation using QuickBooks and ensuring adherence to GAAP standards. This role offers the potential for increased hours as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Record Maintenance: Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and up-to-date.
  • Accounts Management: Handle invoices, payments, and oversee accounts receivable.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Conduct regular reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial records.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and generate essential financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Expense Monitoring: Track and categorize expenses to ensure accurate recording.
  • Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing and related duties.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all financial practices align with legal requirements and internal policies.
  • Tax Credit Management: Oversee the application for state tax credits, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Project Cost Tracking: Monitor production costs to ensure budget compliance and provide detailed financial reports.
  • Data Entry: Accurately input financial data into accounting software.
  • Audit Support: Assist in annual audits and tax preparation processes.
  • Communication: Engage with vendors, clients, and team members regarding financial matters.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO, CFO, Production Supervisor, and Executive Assistant to ensure effective financial management.
Qualifications
  • Experience: At least 2 years of bookkeeping or related experience, preferably in production accounting within the documentary film and television sector.
  • Education: An Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks is essential.
    • Strong skills in MS Excel and other office applications.
    • Familiarity with state tax credits and related documentation.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and meticulousness.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Confidentiality: Capable of handling sensitive information discreetly.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
