Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Test Engineering Lab Technician to support our Test Engineering functional group at our facility in Danbury, CT. As a Test Engineering Lab Technician, you will play a crucial role in performing a variety of moderately complex engineering duties, including hands-on tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate test equipment in a laboratory environment
  • Conduct operational testing and cabinet integration testing
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of test equipment
  • Write test reports to assess product performance
  • Review project instructions and drawings to understand test specifications and procedures
  • Set up and conduct tests of assembled units and components
  • Record and analyze test results
  • Provide feedback to engineers on test results
  • Support qualification testing, including test execution coordination
  • Operate the Engineering Lab environmental chamber
  • Fabricate test fixtures from drawings and schematics
  • Perform test fixture repairs and modifications
  • Perform lab 6S activities, including cleanup and safety

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience and an Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to interpret schematics and troubleshoot hardware to the component level
  • Mechanical aptitude and practical knowledge of general hand tools and machine shop equipment
  • Prior experience soldering and working in a manufacturing environment
  • PC skills and experience using MS Word, Excel, and VISIO
  • Candidates must be a US citizen and meet DRS security standards as imposed by DoD
