Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team at SKLD Muskegon. As a Nutrition Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our residents by developing and implementing personalized nutrition care plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consult with healthcare professionals to assess nutritional needs and develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Provide nutritional counseling and education to residents and their families.
  • Monitor food service operations to ensure compliance with nutritional, safety, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to integrate nutrition services with medical goals.
  • Evaluate and document the nutritional status of residents using established standards of care guidelines.
  • Counsel individuals and groups on healthy eating habits and nutrition monitoring.
  • Write diet orders as needed and investigate weight changes in residents.
  • Function as a member of the clinical team and participate in care planning meetings.
  • Complete assigned MDS portions accurately and on time.
  • Follow established safety precautions and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Requirements
  • Must be a Registered Dietitian or possess a Bachelor of Dietetics degree.
  • Completed an accredited Diabetic internship program preferred.
  • One year of experience as a Registered Dietitian preferred.
  • Knowledge of LARA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy in a hospital or long-term care facility.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and analyze problems.
  • Must be able to relate to older adults and work cooperatively with others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well with families, volunteers, and the public.
  • Basic computer knowledge required.
