Key Responsibilities- Collect and document patient data, including vital signs and medication information
- Assist with patient activities and care as assigned by the charge nurse
- Provide personal hygiene and wound care services
- Maintain a safe and comfortable environment, including storage and upkeep of medications and supplies
- Distribute and document patient medications, adhering to Title 40, Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 95
- Ensure drug room security and maintain facility drug room and pharmaceutical equipment
- Enter medication compliance into the pharmacy computer system
- Participate in in-service orientation and continuing education classes
- High school or GED equivalent
- Current Texas Certified Medication Aide permit
Work environment is located within the confines of a prison, jail or juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.
