Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and document patient data, including vital signs and medication information
  • Assist with patient activities and care as assigned by the charge nurse
  • Provide personal hygiene and wound care services
  • Maintain a safe and comfortable environment, including storage and upkeep of medications and supplies
  • Distribute and document patient medications, adhering to Title 40, Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 95
  • Ensure drug room security and maintain facility drug room and pharmaceutical equipment
  • Enter medication compliance into the pharmacy computer system
  • Participate in in-service orientation and continuing education classes
Requirements
  • High school or GED equivalent
  • Current Texas Certified Medication Aide permit
Work Environment

Work environment is located within the confines of a prison, jail or juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.
