Job Summary

The Medical Assistant is a vital member of our healthcare team, providing exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced clinical setting. As a float pool Medical Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work in various clinics within our designated region, providing a unique and challenging experience.

Responsibilities

As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, performing routine tasks, and providing administrative support. Your duties will include:

  • Providing patient care services, such as taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and performing EKGs/ECGs.
  • Collecting patient history, performing medication reconciliation, and entering information into the electronic medical record.
  • Assisting with procedures, administering medication under the direction of a supervising medical provider, and instructing patients on general care and medical procedures.
  • Maintaining patient and service rooms in a neat and orderly condition, scheduling patient tests and procedures, and conducting patient outreach phone calls and post-visit follow-ups.
  • Responding to routine patient phone calls and MyChart messages, routing to RN, ACP, or Physician as needed, and performing clerical/administrative responsibilities, such as filing and/or scanning patient medical records.
  • Supporting the clinic's compliance with regulatory requirements, taking inventory of clinic supplies, and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Performing functions of the Office Associate/Patient Access Representative and being cross-trained to fill in this role as needed.
  • Conducting Performance Improvement activities that support the clinic's goals for quality, patient experience, patient safety, and efficiency.
  • Sorting and distributing clinic mail and medical records to the appropriate clinic personnel.


Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current/valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification if applicable.
  • Successfully completed a Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid Medication Aide certification by state agency if applicable.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
