Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our float pool team at St. Joseph's Medical Group Clinics. As a Medical Assistant, you will provide high-quality patient care and administrative support in a clinical setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care responsibilities, including taking vital signs, performing venipuncture, collecting specimens, EKGs/ECGs, and POCTs.
- Collect patient history, perform medication reconciliation, and enter information in the electronic medical record.
- Assist with procedures, administer medication under the direction of a supervising medical provider, and instruct patients on general care and medical procedures.
- Maintain patient and service rooms in a neat and orderly condition, schedule patient tests and procedures, and conduct patient outreach phone calls and post-visit follow-ups.
- Perform clerical and administrative responsibilities, including filing and scanning patient medical records, obtaining lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, and referral information.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- 0 or greater than 1 year of experience preferred.
Requirements
- Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid Medication Aide certification by state agency required if applicable.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) required from American Heart Association.
