General Manager Job Description

Job Summary:

The General Manager is a key leader responsible for the overall success of the Hampton Inn New Orleans-St. Charles Avenue. This individual will oversee all aspects of hotel operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, efficient financial performance, and compliance with company and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Management: Direct and supervise a team of management personnel, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure their growth and success.
  • Financial Management: Analyze financial data, forecast revenue and expenses, and implement strategies to optimize financial performance and maintain budgeted productivity levels.
  • Guest Experience: Ensure that all guests receive exceptional service, responding promptly to their needs and concerns, and maintaining a positive and welcoming atmosphere throughout the hotel.
  • Operations and Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the hotel's physical property, ensuring that all facilities and equipment are in good working order and meet company standards.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities for management personnel, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their roles.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Foster open and effective communication with all departments, ensuring that all team members are informed and aligned with the hotel's goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Education and Experience: A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field, or a 4-year college degree and at least 4-5 years of related experience.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Proficiency in Windows operating systems, Company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing; valid driver's license; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
