Job Summary:

Position Title: Natural/Organic Department Manager

FLSA Status: Salary

Reports To: Store Director/Department Director

The Natural/Organic Department Manager is accountable for the overall management of the Natural/Organic department, aiming to meet or surpass sales, gross profit, and labor objectives. Responsibilities encompass ordering, invoice processing, inventory management, and maintaining product displays. This role also involves overseeing team members who assist customers in finding natural, chemical-free, and non-GMO products that cater to their dietary needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organize departmental workload effectively.
  • Implement display standards to enhance product visibility.
  • Collaborate with in-store management and the Department Director.
  • Manage inventory efficiently to minimize shrinkage.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and respond to guest inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping and communicate with HR regarding scheduling issues.
  • Ensure quality standards are consistently met, including inventory levels by specified times.
  • Exhibit regular attendance in accordance with the work schedule.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential job functions effectively. The following qualifications are necessary:

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of retail food operations and merchandising.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with customers and team members.
  • Excellent organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Awareness of safety protocols and company policies.
  • Familiarity with equipment and procedures relevant to the role.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods, walk throughout the store, and perform tasks that involve bending and lifting. Candidates should possess the dexterity to operate equipment and create appealing displays.

Work Schedule:

The Natural/Organic Department Manager is a full-time salaried position, with a schedule that includes mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
