About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Retail Sales Consultant to join our team at Wells Fargo. As a key member of our Consumer Lending group, you will play a critical role in helping us achieve our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Solicit residential mortgages from various external sources and produce high-quality loans.
  • Build relationships with realtors, builders, financial professionals, bank stores, past customers, and other non-traditional sources.
  • Interact with customers to understand their needs and provide them with high-quality customer service, informing prospective and existing customers of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage programs.
  • Analyze and offer mortgage loan products based on the client's needs.
  • Present recommendations for producing loans and exercise some independent judgment while developing an understanding of functional area, policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and generating loans.
  • Maintain a high standard of client satisfaction and quality by ensuring timely and proactive customer communication.
  • Adhere to policies, underwriting requirements, compliance requirements, and loan procedures. Collaborate with fulfillment partners to meet the needs of our clients throughout the origination process.
  • Continuously pursue Wells Fargo training offerings to increase knowledge of company products, policies, and procedures, and underwriting requirements.
  • Stay informed of mortgage industry trends and developments in the assigned market and develop and maintain a high degree of visibility for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in the marketplace.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of Mortgage Retail Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Mortgage industry experience.
  • Experience with educating clients on various mortgage programs.
  • Experience with retail residential mortgage, purchase fundings over the past 12 months referred primarily from established, local or external sources.
  • Established referral base within assigned market.
  • Demonstrated new business development and relationship management skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of sales prospecting and generating referrals.
  • Experience developing and cultivating professional relationships.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Customer service experience.
Job Expectations
  • This position requires SAFE registration at the time of employment. Wells Fargo will initiate the SAFE registration process immediately after your employment start date.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled.
