About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Warehouse Operations Specialist to join our team at BJ's Wholesale Club. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our warehouse facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warehouse Operations
    • Operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner, inspecting the equipment prior to use and following established safety standards.
    • Load and unload merchandise and materials to and from delivery trucks, inspecting and preparing delivery trucks for unloading.
    • Accurately receive all merchandise and materials delivered to the club.
  • Inventory Management
    • Lift, reserve, and drop pallets of merchandise to and from the overhead steel and the sales floor.
    • Prepare pallets for safe reserving by wrapping, strapping, stacking, labeling, and correcting broken pallets.
    • Transport merchandise, material, and pallets safely throughout the club, utilizing a pallet jack as needed.
  • Stockroom and Maintenance
    • Stock, rotate, and store general merchandise and food merchandise, ensuring that merchandise is fully stocked.
    • Handle damaged and spoiled merchandise in accordance with company policies and procedures.
    • Ensure the club is neat, clean, and organized, performing general maintenance duties including removing trash and cardboard from the club.
  • Customer Service
    • Participate in daily club openings and closings, returning merchandise back to the sales floor.
    • Greet all Members, providing prompt and courteous service and assistance, and assisting Members in locating merchandise.
  • Qualifications and Requirements
    • At least 18 years of age.
    • Prior forklift operating experience preferred, but not required.
    • Must successfully complete required training and certification processes.

Working Conditions

  • Most of the time is spent standing, and moving about continuously on hard surfaces.
  • Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds, and may require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.
  • Usually in a comfortable environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard.
