Job Overview

Position Summary

The Material Handler plays a crucial role in the seamless management of materials, ensuring that all production lines are adequately supplied to achieve operational targets. This position requires collaboration with multiple departments to maintain an uninterrupted flow of materials, thereby enhancing the overall efficiency of the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transports materials throughout the facility utilizing various equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand carts.
  • Conducts regular inventory assessments to monitor and uphold accurate stock levels, addressing any discrepancies as needed.
  • Handles incoming shipments by verifying quantities and organizing items in designated storage areas for easy access.
  • Processes production requests by accurately selecting materials from inventory and delivering them to the designated production zones.
  • Performs inspections on materials to identify any damage or defects, promptly reporting findings to supervisors.
  • Keeps meticulous records of material movements, updates inventory management systems, and completes necessary documentation.
  • Undertakes additional tasks as assigned by the Team Leader or Supervisor.
  • Ensures cleanliness and organization of the workspace while adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Complies with all company policies, procedures, and work instructions, including the Employee Handbook and Safety Manual.
  • Maintains awareness of the impact of individual contributions on quality, safety, and compliance, reporting any issues or unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse and shipping operations.
  • Basic mathematical skills are essential.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Capable of working collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Proficient in operating equipment such as Forklifts and Combi-Lifts.
  • Possession of a current and valid Driver's License is required.
  • Computer literacy is necessary, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with real-time manufacturing control systems is preferred.
  • Ability to utilize various tools and measuring instruments, including calipers and tape measures.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for an 8-hour shift.
  • Capable of using hands and fingers to handle machinery and work near moving mechanical parts.
