Inventory Control Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our team at WestRock. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of our inventory levels and maintaining a safe and efficient warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily cycle counts to ensure inventory levels are accurate
- Research discrepancies between physical counts and ASW counts
- Plan, organize, and check the accuracy of inbound deliveries
- Count inventory, research discrepancies, and perform basic math functions
- Ensure materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures
- Oversee the rotation of inventories within the warehouse as needed
- Load outbound trucks and pull will-call orders as needed
- Verify and record information on incoming and outgoing shipments
- Affix shipping labels and postage
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items and recording shortages
- Route items to departments and examine outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications
- May direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments
- Insert items into containers and use space fillers and protective padding
- Lift and move heavy items/packages as required
- Use a computer for email and internet information
- Select carriers and complete shipping documentation
- Track shipments as needed
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three or more years of experience in a warehouse environment and inventory control
- Computer literacy and knowledge of MS Office
- Forklift certification is a plus
- Ability to effectively communicate with management and team members
- Perform basic math functions
- Ability to work independently or within a team environment
- Ability to perform tasks under pressure and within a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to handle detail-oriented work
- General fluency in English, verbal and written
- Ability to interpret instructions
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. intermittently
- Observance of established safety guidelines
- Wear protective equipment as required
