Compensation Structure

The annual salary for this position ranges from $142,050 to $182,388 (TSS.3) and $170,430 to $218,868 (TSS.4). Please note that these figures are general guidelines and actual compensation may vary based on various factors including experience and education.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Construction Manager to oversee the technical and administrative aspects of the Mission-Driven Craft Labor Contract (MDCL) and related subcontract construction projects. This role involves ensuring the effective execution of construction activities that impact laboratory infrastructure and collaborating with various stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance during the planning and execution of construction projects, particularly in active nuclear environments, while adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor project timelines and address potential issues to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Develop solutions for complex technical challenges and ensure compliance with project specifications and requirements.
  • Assess project-related issues and devise strategies to meet productivity and quality benchmarks.
  • Oversee subcontractor safety programs to ensure adherence to established safety protocols.
  • Manage subcontractor schedules and coordinate critical inspections to maintain project timelines.
  • Review safety plans and job hazard analyses to ensure compliance with laboratory safety policies.
  • Provide daily oversight of construction activities to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Coordinate commissioning processes and compile project close-out documentation.
  • Communicate project status and concerns to all relevant stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities at TSS.4 Level

  • Develop and implement project-specific quality assurance plans and oversee ongoing quality assurance activities.
  • Conduct comprehensive constructability reviews and lead project meetings to facilitate coordination.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for construction-related matters, managing subcontractor documentation and requests.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of nuclear operations and safety requirements.
  • Experience in supervising contract labor and ensuring project deliverables meet quality and schedule requirements.
  • Strong understanding of construction management principles, methods, and materials.
  • Proficiency in construction project management software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DOE facilities and familiarity with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and knowledge of Integrated Safety Management Systems.
