Position Overview:


This role is essential for delivering high-quality patient care and engaging in various activities as permitted by licensure and outlined in the Credentialing and Privileging documentation.

As part of the patient care responsibilities, this position is dedicated to:

ensuring optimal patient outcomes through proficient clinical practice; educating patients, their families, clinical personnel, and other stakeholders; collaborating with fellow healthcare professionals; and maintaining up-to-date knowledge regarding the best practices for patient care.


We are seeking a qualified Advanced Practice Provider to become a part of our Hospitalist team in a PRN capacity, available as needed.



Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:


This role is responsible for providing patient care and performing tasks as permitted by licensure and defined within relevant documentation.


Conduct thorough patient assessments to gather comprehensive clinical information and medical history. Order necessary tests and examinations to obtain additional insights for effective patient care.
Based on evaluations, identify patient needs and formulate a care plan. Analyze patient care tests and results to inform treatment decisions.

Administer treatment to patients (and supervise treatments performed by others) while ensuring appropriate prescriptive practices to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.

Utilize specialized knowledge to guarantee that care is suitable, effective, timely, and cost-efficient.
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as outlined in the Scope of Practice.
Document clinical care accurately and in a timely manner. Ensure coding and billing are conducted according to established protocols. Maintain detailed and compliant records in accordance with relevant standards and regulations.

Education and Training:
Facilitate and/or coordinate educational initiatives to enhance the knowledge of patients, their families, and other stakeholders. Provide tailored instruction based on patient needs to support ongoing care.
Train clinical staff in areas of expertise. Mentor students as appropriate to elevate their clinical understanding and ensure safe patient care.

Stay informed about current healthcare trends and engage in continuing medical education to maintain optimal clinical knowledge and patient care skills.


Collaboration:
Coordinate and collaborate with other healthcare providers to enhance patient care efforts.
Communicate clinical information promptly, accurately, and thoroughly to other members of the healthcare team.
May work alongside other providers to effectively share expertise.

Research and Development:


May engage in research activities and apply evidence-based practices to promote quality patient care, develop protocols, and establish best practice standards for the assigned patient population.

Support professional growth through involvement in research initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).

Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (Credentialing requirement).
- and -
Eligibility for State Controlled Substance License II through V.
- and -
Eligibility for Federal DEA Certificate II through V.
- and -
BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
- and -
Other certifications as required (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP).

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree or higher.


Relevant certification from a recognized certifying body such as the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Relevant experience as defined by position leadership.

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for the employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patients and healthcare providers that require effective verbal communication and the ability to hear and understand spoken information quickly and accurately, especially in emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing information, medication preparation, etc.

Expected to lift and utilize a full range of movement to transfer patients and retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items.

Need to walk and assist with transporting patients and distributing supplies and equipment, including pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment.

May be required to stand in a stationary position for extended periods.
