Job Description

Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to join our team at CRICO. As a key member of our Clinical Coding department, you will be responsible for managing a team of Nurse Coders and ensuring the delivery of high-quality coding services to our clients.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in nursing and risk management, with experience in clinical coding and leadership. You will be responsible for:

  • Managing a team of Nurse Coders, including resourcing, quality monitoring, and performance evaluation
  • Acting as a liaison with clients, providing updates on coding engagements and progress
  • Participating in process improvement projects and contributing to departmental goals
  • Communicating with stakeholders, including clients and internal teams
  • Onboarding new staff and clients, as required
  • Collaborating with business and operations leadership to plan and track progress
  • Developing and enhancing clinical coding applications
  • Leading efforts to improve coding efficiencies and recommending process improvements
  • Assisting with tactical coding, as needed

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A nursing degree or hospital case management experience, with a Master's degree preferred
  • 8-10+ years of clinical background in healthcare
  • 3+ years of nursing leadership experience
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and coding tools, such as ICD10
  • Working knowledge of healthcare organizations and providers, with experience in clinical risk management and patient safety
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and independent thinking
  • Basic user of standard business software, such as MS Office
