The Material Handler III plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials within the production environment. This position is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate the movement of raw materials to designated departments, ensuring organized and safe delivery while maintaining stock rotation and material security.
  2. Prepare finished products for shipment, including proper labeling and loading onto transport vehicles.
  3. Utilize material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to execute tasks efficiently.
  4. Organize and label finished goods as per assignment requirements.
  5. Return unused raw materials to storage, ensuring they are properly accounted for.
  6. Continuously seek ways to enhance the efficiency of material handling and production processes.
  7. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the warehouse and loading areas.
  8. Adhere to quality management systems and operational procedures.
  9. Build positive relationships while collaborating with production, material management, and accounting teams.
  10. Meet productivity standards as set by supervisory staff.
  11. Inspect incoming materials for quality and accuracy against purchase orders and packing slips.
  12. Ensure all materials are stored securely and in an organized manner.
  13. Keep detailed records of warehouse activities and assist in daily operations as needed.
  14. Prepare necessary shipping documentation and coordinate logistics.
  15. Comply with safety protocols and report any hazards or incidents.
  16. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  2. Skills: Proficient in reading, writing, and accurately measuring materials. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential. Previous experience operating forklifts is required, with additional experience in Paper Clamp forklifts being advantageous. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, are necessary.
  3. Experience: A minimum of one year in shipping and receiving roles is required, along with warehouse experience. Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards is a plus.
  4. Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform physical tasks associated with the role, including lifting up to 60 lbs and maneuvering heavier items. Ability to navigate the facility safely is essential.
  5. Personal Attributes: Candidates should be dependable, motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  6. Work Environment: The role involves working in both indoor and outdoor settings within a production and warehouse environment.
  7. Schedule: Typically a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, with potential variations based on business needs.
  8. Background Checks: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background checks and drug testing.
