About the RoleThis CMA position requires a strong foundation in clinical procedures, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, administering medications, collecting laboratory specimens, and supporting administrative tasks.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care, including preparing patients for exams, collecting and reviewing medical information, and performing technical duties as directed by providers.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, filing reports, and handling billing inquiries.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care, from preparation to follow-up.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Geisinger's policies and procedures to provide safe and effective care.
- A minimum of 1 year of related work experience preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assist (RMA) required.
- Certification by one of the listed governing associations required: NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA.
