As a Cardiac Ultrasound Specialist at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care by producing accurate and detailed cardiac ultrasonic recordings. Your expertise will help evaluate the anatomy and hemodynamics of the heart, its valves, and related blood vessels, enabling physicians to diagnose and study heart-related conditions.
Responsibilities- Perform ultrasound procedures, including stress echos, bubble studies, and contrast echos, to obtain optimal diagnostic quality of patient test results.
- Assume responsibility for the safe, efficient, and proper operation of ultrasound equipment, adhering to department protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with FHS standards, protocols, and procedures, and demonstrate evidence of continuing education through department meetings, individualized learning opportunities, and related classes.
- Deliver patient care for all age groups while performing ultrasound exams and procedures.
- Review and compile clinical data in accordance with departmental deadlines for physician interpretation of echo records.
- Perform incidental general office duties, including answering phone calls, scheduling, filing, maintaining patient records, and ordering supplies.
- Graduation from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound/echo sonography program demonstrating attainment of requisite job knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- One year of post-graduate experience in cardiac ultrasound and/or demonstrated high degree of proficiency, knowledge, and acuity in the field of diagnostics or ultrasound is preferred.
- Current registration by ARDMS or current certification by Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
- Current healthcare provider BLS Certification.
