Job Summary:

As a Diagnostic Ultrasound Specialist at TRA Medical Imaging, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and diagnostic information. You will perform diagnostic ultrasound exams in accordance with ARDMS standards and ethics, ensuring the highest level of accuracy and precision.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare patients for ultrasound exams, providing thorough explanations and clear instructions.
  2. Obtain patient histories and review charts to determine optimal scanning parameters.
  3. Accurately implement physician orders and perform examinations of the abdomen, pelvis, OB, small parts, and vascular structures.
  4. Present ultrasound examinations to radiologists in a professional and precise manner.
  5. Assist patients to scanning tables, position them, and utilize ultrasound devices and frequencies as required.
  6. Perform examinations in a timely manner and follow scan protocols and radiologist prescriptions without error.
  7. Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper identification is recorded.
  8. Prepare informed consent for and assist radiologists with interventional procedures as requested.
  9. Practice aseptic techniques as necessary and maintain high standards regarding accurate recording of patient information.
  10. Present high-quality ultrasound images and pertinent patient history to radiologists for interpretation.
  11. Utilize effective customer service skills and communicate professionally with patients, physicians, and co-workers.
  12. Manage multiple tasks and carry out instructions effectively.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program required.
  • ARDMS registry eligible or abdomen and OB/GYN preferred.
  • Breast, vascular, MSK, NT, and pediatrics registries a plus/preferred.
  • Current BLS certification required.
Working Conditions:

Work environment consists of normal office or administrative working conditions. There may be exposure to communicable diseases. There will be limited exposure to ionizing radiation.
