About the Job:

The Large Animal Technician is a crucial member of our team at Lampire Biological Laboratories. We are committed to delivering high-quality products and services while fostering a culture of teamwork and innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Animal Care: Provide daily care for large animals, including feeding, watering, and monitoring their well-being, ensuring their health and safety.
  • Production and Maintenance: Complete daily production tasks, such as injections, bleeding, and milking, while maintaining clean and sanitary living environments for animals.
  • Documentation: Document findings and job completions in the required logs.
  • Animal Handling: Safely handle large animals for various procedures, including medical treatments, grooming, and transportation.
  • Facility Maintenance: Assist with general maintenance tasks to keep the animal facilities in good repair and ensure a safe environment.
  • Animal Enrichment: Provide mental and physical stimulation for animals through enrichment activities and environmental improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: Animal Science degree or 4 or more years of animal-related experience.
  • Communication and Organization: Good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Technical Skills: Windows-based computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift or move up to 50lbs or more on a regular basis, with a physically demanding role that requires standing, walking, and bending.
