Job Overview

Position Summary

The Outlet Sales Associate plays a crucial role in delivering outstanding customer service as the initial point of contact for Outlet patrons. This role also includes responsibilities related to cash management. Collaborating with team members in a dynamic environment, the associate ensures efficient movement of merchandise to and from the Outlet sales area while providing operational assistance to the management team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver courteous and professional customer service by welcoming customers and guiding them through the store layout.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, including making change, operating the cash register and credit card processing equipment, and performing calculations as necessary.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries promptly and politely.
  • Ensure sorting tables are well-stocked with merchandise, keep the sales floor organized (including furniture), and assist customers with their selections and pricing inquiries as needed.
  • Uphold a professional appearance and comply with company uniform standards.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor consistently.
  • Follow the work schedule established by the supervisor.
  • Keep the register area tidy and organized.
  • Stay familiar with store security protocols and implement security measures when required.
  • Perform maintenance tasks in the Outlet store, such as sweeping, mopping, and cleaning production tables.
  • Occasionally assist donors and customers outside the Outlet, greet donors, accept donations, and provide receipts.
  • Effectively communicate the organization's mission and vision to donors and customers.
  • Complete other assigned tasks as necessary.

Supervisory Duties

This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • At least six months of relevant work experience or equivalent educational background preferred.
  • Ability to understand English and interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service to all patrons.
  • Capability to perform basic mathematical calculations (e.g., calculating percentages).
  • Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications and internet usage.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing demands and priorities.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in an environment without climate control.
  • Regularly required to walk, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to manage moderate stress levels is essential. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Proficient use of hands and fingers for operating a telephone and keyboard.
  • Frequently exposed to airborne particles while performing job duties.
