Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Midstate Radiology Associates. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic medical sonograms and assisting physicians in diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform Diagnostic Procedures: Conduct ultrasound diagnostic procedures using appropriate transducers and scanning sequences to produce accurate images.
- Assess Physician Orders: Review requisitions and patient charts to ensure correct examinations are performed.
- Establish Testing Schedule: Prioritize requests for procedures to ensure critically ill patients receive timely treatment.
- Perform Quality Assurance: Conduct quarterly quality assurance tests on equipment to maintain integrity and adhere to TJC standards.
- Participate in Invasive Procedures: Assist radiologists in performing procedures and producing images for therapeutic and diagnostic services.
- Maintain Equipment: Clean and disinfect equipment, maintain work areas, and report hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns.
- Develop Competencies: Demonstrate yearly competencies in conducting examinations and meeting patient needs.
- Prepare Examinations: Set up images in PACS systems and accurately input data in RIS systems.
- Communicate Effectively: Communicate with patients, relatives, medical staff, and co-workers to provide quality service.
- Provide Clinical Supervision: Supervise and instruct students in radiographic procedures.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, registered or registry eligible with ARDMS, CPR certification, and maintenance of continuing education credits.
- Desirable: Graduate of AMA-approved ultrasound program, at least one year's experience as an ultrasound technologist, and associates or applied science degree in a related field.
- Knowledge: Working knowledge of ultrasound technology, anatomy, medical and surgical disease, and scientific principles.
- Skills: Operate ultrasound equipment, schedule and organize patient flow, communicate effectively, and maintain confidentiality.
