Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced X-Ray Technologist to join our team at Midstate Radiology Associates. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating equipment and performing radiological and therapeutic examinations to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Diagnostic Imaging: Perform diagnostic radiography studies by following established protocols and selecting correct exposure factors to produce high-quality images.
  2. Complex Procedures: Participate in complex invasive radiological procedures by assisting radiologists in performing procedures and producing images to provide therapeutic and diagnostic services.
  3. Radiation Safety: Practice radiation safety by using radiation protection devices and adhering to radiation safety standards to protect patients, staff, and self.
  4. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain radiological equipment in good operating order, clean and disinfect equipment and area after each use, and report any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to supervisor.
  5. Patient Care: Demonstrate yearly competencies in conducting examinations and meeting the needs of patients with regard to age, condition, or other special requirements.
  6. Image Preparation: Prepare examinations for interpretation by radiologists, including correct identification and processing, and accurately input data in the RIS system.
  7. Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, medical staff, and co-workers to provide quality service.
  8. Teamwork: Work effectively as a team member within the department and with other units to provide quality service through communication, cooperation, and collaboration.
  9. Clinical Supervision: Provide clinical supervision and instruction to students by maintaining and understanding of policies, procedures, and the clinical competency process.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, graduate of an AMA-approved radiology program, and registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
  • Licensure: CT state license and CPR certification may be required.
  • Experience: At least one year's experience as a radiological technologist and associates or applied science degree in a related field are desirable.
  • Knowledge: Working knowledge applicable to radiological technology, including anatomy, medical and surgical disease, and scientific principles.
  • Skills: Operate and adjust radiological equipment, schedule and organize patient flow, communicate effectively, and maintain confidentiality of patient records.
Working Conditions

May be required to rotate on weekend and/or holiday schedule, cover ancillary offices as needed, and work in an environment with OSHA Class 1 exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.

May involve physical lifting and/or walking.
