We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced X-Ray Technologist to join our team at Midstate Radiology Associates. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating equipment and performing radiological and therapeutic examinations to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnostic Imaging: Perform diagnostic radiography studies by following established protocols and selecting correct exposure factors to produce high-quality images.
- Complex Procedures: Participate in complex invasive radiological procedures by assisting radiologists in performing procedures and producing images to provide therapeutic and diagnostic services.
- Radiation Safety: Practice radiation safety by using radiation protection devices and adhering to radiation safety standards to protect patients, staff, and self.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain radiological equipment in good operating order, clean and disinfect equipment and area after each use, and report any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to supervisor.
- Patient Care: Demonstrate yearly competencies in conducting examinations and meeting the needs of patients with regard to age, condition, or other special requirements.
- Image Preparation: Prepare examinations for interpretation by radiologists, including correct identification and processing, and accurately input data in the RIS system.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, medical staff, and co-workers to provide quality service.
- Teamwork: Work effectively as a team member within the department and with other units to provide quality service through communication, cooperation, and collaboration.
- Clinical Supervision: Provide clinical supervision and instruction to students by maintaining and understanding of policies, procedures, and the clinical competency process.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, graduate of an AMA-approved radiology program, and registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
- License: CT state license and CPR certification may be required.
- Experience: At least one year's experience as a radiological technologist is desirable.
- Working Knowledge: Working knowledge applicable to radiological technology, including anatomy, medical and surgical disease, and scientific principles.
- Quality Assurance: Knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices.
- Customer Service: Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
- OSHA: Knowledge of OSHA principles and practices.
- TJC: Knowledge of TJC standards of practice.
- Shift Schedule: 12:00 AM (midnight) - 8:00 AM, Sunday - Thursday + holiday rotation.
- Physical Demands: May involve physical lifting and/or walking.
