Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Midstate Radiology Associates. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating radiological equipment and performing radiological and therapeutic examinations to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform Diagnostic Radiography Studies: Conduct diagnostic radiography studies by following established protocols and selecting correct exposure factors to produce high-quality images for radiologists to interpret.
  2. Participate in Complex Invasive Procedures: Assist radiologists in performing complex invasive procedures and produce images to provide therapeutic and diagnostic services.
  3. Practice Radiation Safety: Adhere to radiation safety standards to protect patients, staff, and self, and comply with regulatory agencies and requirements.
  4. Maintain Equipment and Work Area: Clean and disinfect equipment and maintain work areas in an orderly manner, reporting any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to supervisors.
  5. Demonstrate Competencies: Demonstrate yearly competencies, including knowledge and behaviors, to conduct examinations and meet the needs of patients with regard to age, condition, or other special requirements.
  6. Prepare Examinations for Interpretation: Prepare examinations for radiologists to interpret, including correct identification and processing, and accurately input data in the RIS system.
  7. Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, medical staff, and co-workers to provide quality service and ensure patient satisfaction.
  8. Provide Clinical Supervision: Provide clinical supervision and instruction to students, maintaining and understanding of policies, procedures, and the clinical competency process.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, graduate of an AMA-approved radiology program, and registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
  • License: CT state license and CPR certification may be required.
  • Experience: At least one year's experience as a radiologic technologist, with associates or applied science degree in a related field desirable.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Working knowledge of radiological technology, anatomy, medical and surgical disease, and scientific principles, as well as quality assurance principles and practices, customer service principles and practices, OSHA principles and practices, and TJC standards of practice.

Working Conditions:

  • Shift Schedule: 12:00 AM (midnight) - 8:00 AM, Sunday - Thursday + holiday rotation.
  • Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40.
  • Compensation: Competitive hourly wage, with a range of $26.00 - $45.00 per hour, plus competitive shift differentials (12%-50% of base rate) and a sign-on bonus up to $10,000 for well-qualified candidates.
