The Curriculum Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the development, organization, and implementation of the Medical Doctorate program at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. This position will work closely with the Pre-Clerkship and Clerkship Directors, the Director of Medical Education, and the Assistant Dean of Medical Education to ensure the smooth operation of the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:- Curriculum Development: Assist in the development and implementation of the curriculum, including preparing reports, gathering course and student evaluations, and coordinating mid-clerkship feedback.
- Course Coordination: Provide administrative support for medical school curriculum, including course coordination, project management, and preparation and dissemination of course materials and syllabi.
- Scheduling and Logistics: Schedule learning sessions, including room reservations, and manage the online course materials in the learning management system (LMS).
- Communication and Liaison: Serve as a frontline contact and liaison between students, faculty, and course co-directors, and maintain web-based communication for courses.
- Exam Preparation and Evaluation: Coordinate exam preparation and evaluation processes for each course, including proctoring of exams.
- Curricular Projects and Tasks: Participate in curricular committees and other curricular-related meetings, and complete assigned curricular projects and tasks.
- Education: Minimum: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. Preferred: Master's Degree in Education, Health Services Administration, Psychology, Nursing, or English from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: Minimum: One year of relevant responsible work experience. Preferred: Prior administrative experience in an academic setting.
- Skills: Demonstrates critical thinking skills, excellent written and oral communication, analytical and computer skills, and advanced skills in spreadsheets, databases, and scheduling tools.
The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring the ability to work effectively with a diverse community and maintain confidentiality of student and personnel information.
