Curriculum Coordinator Job Description
This is a fully on-site role in Los Angeles, CA with a salary range from $60,000-$70,000.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Curriculum Coordinator to join our team at Insight Global. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Children's Center Director in curriculum development, policy, and long-term planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to meet children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs.
- Staff Leadership: Provide guidance and supervision to teaching staff, ensuring a safe and developmentally appropriate environment.
- Professional Development: Support staff growth through direction, coaching, and training, particularly in the emergent curriculum process.
- Documentation: Train teachers in documenting children's learning and conduct school-wide curriculum documentation.
- Team Meetings: Conduct weekly meetings to discuss children's progress and behaviors, promoting teamwork and problem-solving.
- Environment Maintenance: Work with the Director to maintain developmentally appropriate environments and manage classroom materials.
- Community Outreach: Connect the curriculum to the broader community and serve as a resource for student interns.
Requirements:
- Typically a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of classroom teaching experience in developing and implementing early care and education programs for children 2 months to 5 years of age.
- Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of: Reggio Emilia; Resources for Infant Educates (RIE); and the Program for Infant toddler Caregivers. Certification in the latter two preferred.
- Experience in NAEYC accreditation process and with developmental, play-based approaches preferred.
- Ability to respect cultural differences in early childhood education and parenting practices and works to mediate these differences in ways that are acceptable to parents and staff.
- Highly developed organizational and leadership skills. Experience managing, motivating, supporting and a team.
- Demonstrated computer competency and preferably knowledgeable of design/photoshop/zoom browser systems.
