The Patient Financial Access Specialist - Clinical Scheduling serves as a crucial link between referring physicians and patients, overseeing the management of appointments, procedures, and surgical scheduling across various departments. This role requires collaboration with patients, healthcare providers, and administrative teams to ensure precise coordination and decision-making regarding complex scheduling needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Throughput: Collects essential information from referring physicians and clinical providers to facilitate reimbursement processes for outpatient services.
- Surgery Scheduling: Manages and supports surgical scheduling tasks, including gathering necessary documentation and providing procedural codes.
- Software Utilization: Employs various software applications, including Epic, to efficiently schedule patient appointments and maintain high productivity standards.
- Resource Management: Collaborates with management to provide support across outpatient services, ensuring optimal scheduling efficiency.
- Customer Service Excellence: Upholds the Health System Standards of Professional Behavior, ensuring a seamless experience for patients and visitors.
- Additional Duties: Assists management with training materials and provides guidance to staff as needed.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
Experience: Two to three years of experience in a customer service role, ideally within a healthcare setting with high call volumes.
Special Skills: Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, and a basic understanding of medical terminology. Proficient in problem-solving and effective communication across various disciplines.
