Deputy Federal Security Director

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Deputy Federal Security Director - Mission Support. This role is a critical part of the TSA's leadership team, responsible for providing strategic guidance and oversight to ensure the effective implementation of security measures at major airports.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic advice to the Federal Security Director on all matters related to the administration and business support of major airports.
- Serve as a first-line or higher-level supervisor, overseeing multiple units, projects, or programs within an airport.
- Develop and implement plans to achieve strategic objectives, including budgeting, resource allocation, and personnel management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address security threats, and develop solutions to mitigate risks.
- Manage and direct the work of supervisors, program managers, and other subordinate employees to ensure effective execution of security operations.
- Prepare and present reports to senior leadership on security performance, trends, and best practices.
- Must possess U.S. Citizenship.
- Must complete a favorable Tier 5 Background Investigation (T5).
- Must pass Drug Screening, subject to random drug tests.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
- May be required to complete a one-year Supervisory Trial Period.
- This is an Emergency Essential position.
- Must sign mobility agreement upon selection.
- This position requires Financial Disclosure.
To qualify for this position, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the SV-J Pay Band or GS-14 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience includes managing programs related to corporate security, aviation security, force protection, law enforcement, and other equivalent security/law enforcement programs, as well as directing staff, activities, and providing leadership to a diverse workforce.
