The California State Association of Counties is seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of Deputy Director in our Human Services Agency. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead significant departments and contribute to Agency-wide decision-making.
About the Role:
The Deputy Director will oversee two departments: Children & Family Services and Community Services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public administration, social work, or a related field, with at least five years of increasingly responsible managerial and leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive departmental goals and manage change
- Foster a collaborative, empowering culture
- Provide essential support to the Agency Director
- Supervise Division Managers and employees
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Five years of increasingly responsible managerial and leadership experience
- Upper management level experience in human/social services entities
Working Conditions:
The work is performed primarily in an office environment. Frequent driving using a personal vehicle and travel within the state is required. Worksite reassignments may occur.
County Employees as Disaster Service Workers:
When a disaster strikes, Ventura County employees may be called upon to provide service to the community. All County employees will be required to sign an Oath or Affirmation of Allegiance for Disaster Service Workers and Public Employees.
