We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Specialist to join our team at Mayo Clinic. As a Patient Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your primary responsibility will be to support the care team in meeting the needs of patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including collecting and documenting patient data and communicating with patients, families, and care team members.
- Support the unit by maintaining the environment of care and performing unit-based clerical duties.
- Work collaboratively with the care team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Utilize multiple computer applications to support patient care and administrative tasks.
- High School Graduate or GED equivalency preferred.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic computer skills and experience with other technological devices.
- Ability to work irregular hours, including days, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
- Self-motivated and independent with a strong commitment to continuous learning and quality.
- Previous experience as a Patient Care Specialist, HUC, MA, NS, or Ward Clerk.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
