About the Role

The Patient Care Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the nursing team at Mayo Clinic. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will assist staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care, which complements nursing practice under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out delegated skills that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel.
  • Assist with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care.
  • Support the nursing team in providing high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Completion of 12 college credits -OR- High school diploma/ GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training or equivalent preferred.
  • Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
  • Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs.

Work Schedule

Part Time
8- or 12-hour shift rotations, with variable shifts including days, evening, and nights. Weekend Schedule
Weekend rotation required including every other or every third weekend. Holiday rotation. International Assignment
