Core Responsibilities

The Material Handler plays a crucial role in the effective and precise management of materials, ensuring that production lines are equipped with the necessary supplies to achieve production targets. This position collaborates closely with various departments to ensure a seamless flow of materials, contributing to the overall efficiency of the manufacturing process.

Key Duties

  • Safely and effectively transports materials within the facility using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand carts.
  • Maintains accurate inventory levels through regular counts and resolves any discrepancies.
  • Receives incoming materials, verifies quantities, and organizes items in designated areas for easy access.
  • Processes production orders by accurately selecting materials from inventory and delivering them to the appropriate production zones.
  • Conducts visual inspections of materials for any damage or defects and reports issues to supervisors.
  • Keeps detailed records of material transactions, updates inventory systems, and completes necessary documentation.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by the Team Leader or Supervisor.
  • Ensures cleanliness and adheres to established safety protocols.
  • Follows all policies, procedures, and work instructions, including the Employee Handbook and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintains awareness of individual contributions to quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies; reports any quality issues or unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse and shipping operations.
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Capable of working in a team environment and interacting with a diverse workforce.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Must be proficient in operating equipment such as Forklifts and Combi-Lifts.
  • Possession of a current and valid Driver's License is necessary.
  • Computer literacy is required, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Familiarity with online real-time manufacturing control systems is a plus.
  • Ability to utilize various tools and measuring instruments.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for an 8-hour shift.
  • Must have the dexterity to handle machinery and work near moving mechanical parts.
