Job Summary

The Registered Nurse Clinical Educator II will play a key role in assessing, planning, and implementing clinical opportunities to improve the delivery of diabetic patient care and staff education. This individual will serve as a liaison with various departments and services to ensure seamless diabetes education for patients and their families. The successful candidate will develop and provide comprehensive diabetes education on an inpatient and outpatient basis, utilizing their expertise to enhance patient outcomes.

Requirements:

Education and Skills

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program required
  • BSN preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of three years clinical RN experience required
  • Minimum of three years experience managing the care of patients with both Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes
  • Familiarity with insulin pumps preferred

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

  • Current Texas RN license required
  • Certified Diabetic Educator (CDE) preferred. If not CDE at time of hire, successful completion of CDE exam within 2 years of hire/transfer date is required to remain in position
  • Current BLS certification required – American Heart Association
