Job Title: Merchandising Specialist, E-commerce

Department: Omnichannel

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports To: Sr. Manager, Web Merchandising

Summary:

The Merchandising Specialist, E-commerce is responsible for driving product sales and profit for the Hibbett Retail, Inc. e-commerce channel. This role brings the merchandising strategy to life digitally by leveraging sales data, website metrics, consumer research, and competitive intelligence to create best-in-class shopping experiences and digital marketing programs that align with the company's business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for online sales of product categories, with key performance indicators (KPIs) including conversion, traffic, and average order value (AOV)/average unit retail (AUR) for assigned categories.
  • Improve overall site conversion by implementing dropshipping, modifying facets, and making navigational changes or additions as needed.
  • Ensure product builds are completed and new receipts are being built appropriately, with weekly updates on new arrivals and online product receipt dates.
  • Track competitors' promotions, new products, and marketing ideas to stay ahead in the market.
  • Ensure pricing accuracy and MAP compliance to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Track Tiered and Co-op products for the marketing team to photograph and market new products in a timely manner.
  • Perform daily website scrubbing to ensure no errors are present and to improve the ease of shopping on the website, with a focus on ecommerce item quality assurance.
  • Responsible for digital merchandising of product categories, including search optimization, sort orders, website navigation and taxonomy, and facets to ensure customers can easily find what they want.
  • Work with the marketing team to develop the marketing story of different products, proof marketing creative to ensure product is shot correctly and executed appropriately, and provide necessary information to support online and merchant-driven promotions.
  • Serve as a digital thought leader for assigned categories, helping to identify new ideas and working with the ecommerce team to develop enhancements and functionality.
  • Manage the coordination and execution of all dropship partnerships and products, overseeing the dropship program and building products on the website, and conducting vendor meetings to discuss product assortments and sales.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the merchant team to share digital insights, sales reporting, competition information, and obtain feedback for additional needs, providing helpful information such as product and location selling for merchants to use for future allocation purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 or more years of experience in merchandising with store buying and/or planning experience preferred.
  • Prior success in launching a digital channel or growing a digital business.
  • Experience working for a retail company.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
