Job Summary

Calyx Containers is seeking a highly skilled Production Scheduler/Planner to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring our order-to-delivery process is monitored and adhered to our company's lead time goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Order Prioritization: Ensure that orders are prioritized based on customer requirements, material availability, labor/machinery availability, and other relevant factors.
  • Production Scheduling: Provide daily production schedules to production supervisors and ensure adherence to the schedule.
  • Vendor Communication: Communicate regularly with 3rd party vendors to ensure their production/distribution schedule meets our required lead times.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and execute purchase orders on production materials, and work with Vendor Management/Production Manager to communicate bottlenecks with production material vendors.
  • Capacity Planning: Generate and maintain capacity calculations to determine labor needs for all aspects of the production process.
  • Process Improvement: Create and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, and reference documents for the role.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 3+ years of previous experience in a similar role, such as Scheduler, Buyer, Demand Planner.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and reporting skills, experience with ERP order entry (NetSuite experience a plus), and experience in a printing production environment is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to provide context to key stakeholders on customer-facing sales orders, and ability to work independently handling multiple projects at once.
