Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Construction Planner to join our Real Estate Division, focusing on supporting our Commercial Developer and Industrial, Sciences, and Technology teams in London. Being part of our award-winning teams will allow you to collaborate with some of Turner & Townsend's key clients, including high-performing property developers and renowned blue-chip real estate firms. You will have the chance to engage with clients to discuss their projects and delivery timelines, providing them with realistic expectations.

Role Objectives:

To assist Project Management commissions in formulating plans and schedules that facilitate our services and projects, while monitoring and reporting against these in alignment with defined responsibilities and Turner & Townsend's systems, mission, and values;

  • To support Project Management commissions in achieving safe and efficient outcomes that align with agreed profit and client satisfaction targets;
  • To cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and other influential stakeholders to secure future business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed integrated schedules (design, procurement, and construction) supported by a comprehensive build strategy, construction methodology, logistics plan, and phasing outlines.
  • Assist the project team with all planning functions, ensuring that any issues within the schedule are identified and addressed.
  • Provide relevant planning guidance and direction to project team members and stakeholders, producing program assurance reports for our client commissions.
  • Utilize critical path analysis to evaluate the impact of changes on both critical and non-critical activities, effectively communicating information regarding changes and delays affecting the schedule.
  • Generate specific schedule outputs to analyze 'Compensation Events' and 'Early Warning Notices' impacts. Collaborate with Turner & Townsend's Contract Advisory services to produce delay analysis reports.
  • Create progress reports indicating variances from the baselines.
  • Deliver periodic schedule updates and contribute to project reports.
  • Coordinate between clients and their partners, consultants, and contractors to ensure compliance with the Project Schedule, reporting any areas of non-compliance for resolution.
  • As needed, provide planning support to the bidding team to ensure timely submission of bidding documentation.
Qualifications
  • A proven track record of delivering projects as a Senior Planner/Project Planner with over 10 years of experience in a UK-based main contractor or project management consultancy.
  • Experience across a diverse range of projects, including Residential, Commercial, Education, Leisure, Industrial, Health, and Retail.
  • Proficient in Asta Powerproject (with Primavera and Microsoft Project being advantageous).
