Job Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Tack Distributor Operator to become part of our team. The Tack Distributor Operator will be tasked with the operation and upkeep of tack distributor vehicles to apply tack coat materials on roadway surfaces as part of the asphalt paving procedure. The ideal candidate will possess roadway construction experience, hold a valid commercial driver's license (CDL), and show a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safety First. Foster a zero-incident environment by operating the tack distributor in a safe and compliant manner according to project specifications. Take personal accountability for safety by utilizing all required personal protective equipment and adhering to company and OSHA safety protocols. Report any safety issues to the Supervisor, Safety Director, or HR Manager, making safety a daily priority.

2. Deliver Results. Operate tack distributor vehicles to apply tack coat materials on roadway surfaces following project specifications and safety standards.

3. Commitment to Quality. Ensure accurate application rates and coverage of tack coat materials to promote adhesion between asphalt layers. Monitor application temperatures and adjust equipment settings as needed for optimal performance.

4. Ownership and Maintenance. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tack distributor vehicles to ensure safe operation and identify maintenance needs.

5. Collaboration. Work in coordination with paving crews and other construction staff to ensure timely and effective application of tack coat materials.

6. Record Keeping. Maintain precise records of work completed, including quantities of tack coat materials used and areas treated.

7. Compliance. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements related to roadway construction and commercial vehicle operation.

8. Team Support. Assist with additional tasks on job sites as required, including traffic management, equipment operation, and general labor duties.



Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with tanker endorsement.
  3. Previous experience operating tack distributor vehicles or similar heavy machinery in roadway construction or paving projects is preferred.
  4. Knowledge of tack coat application methods, materials, and equipment.
  5. Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and other construction documents.
  6. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  7. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  8. Commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant safety regulations and protocols.
  9. OSHA certification preferred.
  10. Authorized to work in the U.S.
