About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientific Data Engineer to join our team at ClearCompany Talent Management Software. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing machine learning solutions for the quantitative analysis of complex microscopy images.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Implement Machine Learning Pipelines: Work closely with our interdisciplinary team of experimental and computational scientists to design and implement machine learning pipelines tailored for the development of microscopy image-based analysis frameworks.
  2. Preprocess and Clean Large-Scale Datasets: Preprocess and clean large-scale microscopy datasets, ensuring data quality and integrity for downstream analysis.
  3. Develop and Optimize Machine Learning Models: Develop, optimize, and fine-tune machine learning models, including traditional algorithms and deep learning architectures, and validate results in an application-appropriate manner.
  4. Participate in Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of efficient and maintainable codebases.
  5. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with other teams in the institute to scale-up analysis protocols into a high-throughput computational pipeline.
  6. Ensure Seamless Integration: Ensure seamless integration and sharing of resources and data across teams.
  7. Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Advancements: Stay updated with the latest advancements in machine learning and image analysis techniques, and proactively propose innovative solutions.
  8. Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain meticulous records and work closely with other scientists to coordinate complex experiments.
  9. Adhere to Regulatory Requirements: Adhere to SOPs, GLPs, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: BA/BS in any science, computation, or engineering field or related degree.
  2. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in machine learning and image analysis, 1+ years hands-on experience in Python, Masters in any science, computation, or engineering field or related degree, hands-on experience in developing and debugging deep learning models, experience with traditional machine learning techniques and deep learning frameworks, programming proficiency in languages such as Python, experience with data manipulation libraries and machine learning libraries, experience with developing or contributing to open-source tools/packages, experience utilizing software engineering practices, experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment, careful attention to detail.

  1. Fine Motor Movements: Fine motor movements in fingers/hands to operate computers and other office equipment.
Work Environment
  1. Hybrid Work Environment: This role is currently able to work in a hybrid work environment. We are a Washington State employer, and any remote work must be performed in Washington State.
Compensation
  1. Annualized Salary Range: $77,250 – $103,000

Final salary depends on the required education for the role, experience, level of skills relevant to the role, and work location, where applicable.
