About the Role
The Engineering Operations team is responsible for maintaining and managing our critical infrastructure systems, ensuring they are always prepared for any eventuality. Our mission at Amazon Data Services, Inc. is to design, plan, deliver, and operate all aspects of our global infrastructure, keeping the cloud operational.

Your Responsibilities
As an Engineering Operations Technician II, you will:

  • Drive innovation while minimizing operational costs within our facilities.
  • Lead projects of moderate complexity.
  • Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level incidents in accordance with internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Conduct rack installations, decommissioning, operational assessments, and facility management.
  • Provide key performance metrics to senior engineering staff.
  • Oversee onsite management of contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with established practices and local regulations.
  • Perform maintenance and operations on all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems within the data center.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols while executing tasks.
  • Engage in basic support activities, including ticketing systems, root cause analysis, change management, and documentation.
  • Adapt to varying work schedules based on site requirements, with shifts potentially extending up to 12 hours.
  • Maintain critical infrastructure equipment to ensure 99.999% uptime.
  • Support multiple locations as required.
  • Navigate uneven terrain and perform construction tasks safely.
  • Regularly lift and move equipment as needed.
