Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our faculty as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor or Tenure-eligible Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York.

About the Position

This is a full-time, tenure-track appointment with a ten-month academic year beginning in the Fall of 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct exemplary research, pursue extramural funding, teach graduate-level courses, advise and mentor students, and contribute to departmental and university service.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct innovative research in higher education, leading to publications in prominent scholarly outlets.
  • Pursue extramural funding for research initiatives.
  • Teach two graduate-level courses per semester.
  • Advise and mentor graduate students, including chairing and serving on doctoral dissertation committees.
  • Support efforts to recruit Ed.M. and Ph.D. students.
  • Fulfill service responsibilities related to program, departmental, and university affiliations.
Qualifications
  • Earned doctorate in higher education, student affairs administration, or a closely related field by August 2025.
  • Experience mentoring or working with racially minoritized and/or first-generation college students.
  • Research agenda focused on issues of higher education equity and related topics.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical analysis programs.
  • Demonstrated potential for research productivity via peer-reviewed scholarship.
  • Ability to pursue and sustain an externally funded research program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in mixed methods, quantitative critical (quant crit), and/or large-scale data analysis and/or learning analytics.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in the classroom.
  • Experience working in student affairs.
  • Experience teaching in online or hybrid formats.
