Job Title: Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor

Loyola University Maryland is seeking a highly qualified Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor to join our Department of Psychology. This is a one-year, full-time, non-tenure track position with the possibility of renewal pending department needs.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented educator with expertise in research methods and a passion for teaching. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching 4 courses per academic semester, with the opportunity to teach in the summer if desired. The position requires a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, including an appreciation of high-impact teaching practices and the ability to create a sense of inclusion and belonging in the classroom.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach research methods courses and other courses in the person's area of expertise
  • Hold dedicated office hours and participate in limited additional department service
  • Contribute to the Jesuit educational mission of the department and university
Requirements:
  • Master's or Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Psychology or other social science discipline
  • Ability to teach courses in research methods (study designs; descriptive and inferential statistics)
  • Prior teaching experience and evidence of teaching effectiveness
  • Ability to create a sense of inclusion and belonging in the classroom
  • Strong commitment to excellence in teaching
