Job Summary:

The Sterilization Technician is responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, and delivering reusable dental instruments. This role involves maintaining equipment in the department, ensuring a clean and organized work area, and being cross-trained in the laundry aspect of the department. The successful candidate will process sterilized items for departments and students, and perform other duties as needed.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • No prior experience required, but minimum six months experience working in a dental or medical area preferred
Key Skills:
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and their maintenance preferred
  • Able to keyboard 40 wpm
  • Able to read, write legibly, speak in English with professional quality, and use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position
  • Operate and troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
  • Work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure
  • Collaborate and accept direction
  • Able to communicate effectively on the telephone
