Operations Manager Job Description

The Salvation Army is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the daily activities of our Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) in San Jose, CA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse, logistics, and production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily activities of the Work Therapy Unit (WTU), including quality assurance, pricing strategies, inventory control, space management, logistics, and shipping and receiving processes.
  • Supervise and train Donation Attendants to provide excellent customer service, safety, and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement effective logistics and production plans to meet retail requirements and timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Monitor and manage budgeted expenses and income, and maintain all DOT and driver files to align with state and federal law.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures, and complying with internal, local, and state regulations.


Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent required; one or more years of paid experience in a warehouse role managing hourly employees preferred.
  • Experience supervising program participants, volunteers, interns, or large groups of individuals a plus.
  • Proficiency with warehouse procedures and policies, including logistics, equipment, safety, and purchasing a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of organization staff and deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal.
  • Current valid driver's license and ability to pass MVR report required.
  • Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
