Role Summary:
The Field Service Specialist is responsible for delivering expert service and support to clients while managing intricate water systems, including piping, pumps, and control mechanisms, as well as combustion, natural gas piping, and electrical frameworks.
In this capacity, you will assist clients with installation guidance, system commissioning, and both corrective and preventive maintenance services. Your extensive knowledge of Kemco's products will enable you to mentor clients through training sessions during the commissioning phase and throughout the equipment's lifecycle. As the primary liaison for operators during system commissioning and ongoing service, you will play a crucial role in addressing their spare parts and service contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain fluid flow systems, including heat exchangers and pumps.
- Conduct hands-on tasks at client locations, addressing their complex water systems, combustion, natural gas piping, and electrical systems.
- Engage in customer pre-consultation, site readiness assessment, startup execution, and monitoring, including combustion process tuning and documentation.
- Oversee the replacement or refurbishment of electrical and mechanical components.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance or repairs on equipment, along with upgrades and scheduled routine maintenance.
- Educate clients on normal and abnormal operating conditions, as well as maintenance procedures and documentation.
- Identify equipment faults, plan corrective actions, and resolve issues effectively.
- Complete service reports, documenting repairs, warranty work, and maintenance performed.
- Ensure safety standards are prioritized and strictly followed on every project.
- Conduct electrical and mechanical troubleshooting; utilize hand tools and analyzers; interpret blueprints; and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Exhibit outstanding customer service skills; communicate clearly both verbally and in writing; resolve issues promptly and accurately; collaborate effectively in teams and independently; and maintain exceptional organizational skills.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with combustion processes is advantageous.
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, AC/DC motor control, PLCs, VFDs, and Allen-Bradley Control platforms is a plus.
- Operational experience in industrial wastewater treatment is beneficial.
Work Environment:
This role involves significant on-site work at client facilities, requiring adaptability to various weather conditions and work environments. Duties may include prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and manual handling. The position may involve working in high temperatures and noisy environments, as well as physical activities such as bending, reaching, and lifting weights up to 60 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
This position is classified as Full Time, Non-exempt, hourly, and eligible for overtime.
