About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Technology Liaison to join our Depositary Receipts team at The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation. This is a hybrid work schedule (3 days a week in office) role that can be located out of our New York City, NY office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary liaison between the DR Business Staff and the DR Engineering team to identify and prioritize technological needs of the DR Business.
  • Manage multi-functional deliverables to ensure that the concerns of the Client, Business, Risk, Compliance, and Legal are addressed during the product and/or project development life cycle.
  • Accountable for the maintenance, enhancement, development, designing, and delivery of all technology to the DR Business.
  • Analyze, define, and prioritize business requirements and functional or operational specifications for moderate to large projects of increasing complexity.
  • Provide consultation to all areas of IT and business management for the application of technology to support business opportunities and planning, implementation of cross-functional applications or systems.
  • May allocate/coordinate work within a team/project.
  • Elicit, challenge, and prioritize business requirements.
  • Translate into functional design and use case documents.
  • Develop project scope, objectives, constraints, and assumptions.
  • Plan and formulate aspects of development proposals including the objective or purpose of projects, existing applications that can be utilized, and equipment and human resource requirements.
  • Participate in and provide guidance on development of functional requirements and user documentation.
  • Consult internal business groups on requirements, functional architecture, and implementation.
  • Use thorough knowledge of business needs to provide design support to software and application development teams.
  • Gather and analyze information to assist in the development of recommendations to address business objectives that span multiple business and technology areas.
  • Work with business and technology teams to implement technology roadmap strategy.
  • Train users on new or enhanced applications and/or systems of moderate complexity.
  • Serve as point of contact or subject matter expert for the business on specific systems.
  • Provide technical consultation concerning business implications of application development projects.
  • Support testing of new or enhanced applications and/or systems and provide guidance to junior team members on case development, requirement traceability analysis, test preparation, script writing, and functional test execution.
  • Use broad knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements and BNY Mellon corporate policies involving risk and control to support the development of improved business processes through technology.
  • No direct reports, but will provide guidance to less experienced colleagues.
  • Lead projects and allocate work accordingly.
  • Contribute to the achievement of related teams' objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 5-10 years of work experience in financial services; familiarity with Depositary Receipts and banking technology applications a plus.
  • Collaborative mindset with technology background.
