The Solutions Consultant Manager represents a modern take on the conventional Sales Engineer Manager role, focusing on how we guide teams to effectively assist our clients in comprehending their environments, offering solution insights, and ensuring they derive maximum value from their investments with Palo Alto Networks.

In the capacity of Solutions Consultant Manager, you will serve as the technical authority for your District Solutions Consulting team. Collaborating closely with the District Sales Manager, you and your team will foster relationships with clients aimed at aiding them in identifying and thwarting sophisticated cyber threats and breaches. Our clients require expert advice on which applications to implement from our suite of offerings. Your expertise, guidance, and mentorship will empower your team to stay ahead of emerging cyber threats and maintain a proactive stance on prevention.

As the technical lead for your designated territory, you will mentor and guide your team in formulating innovative technical solutions that safeguard essential business objectives for clients while maximizing the value of their investment with Palo Alto Networks. You will advocate for our industry leadership in on-premises, cloud, and security operations services, positioning Palo Alto Networks as the preferred cybersecurity partner for your clients. Additionally, you will cultivate talent within your team and provide constructive feedback to the product management team regarding new feature requests and product enhancements based on insights gathered from client interactions.

Your Impact
  • Recruit and onboard new Solutions Consultants within the territory, ensuring the acquisition of top-tier talent in the industry.
  • Oversee training, mentoring, and performance evaluations for your team members, fostering engagement and success in their professional journeys.
  • Assist field Solutions Consultant teams in navigating complex evaluations, problem-solving, and challenging client environments.
  • Lead and coach your team on effective technical validation strategies based on best practices to secure technical wins in assigned opportunities.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individual development plans for your team members.
  • Collaborate closely with Professional Services, Customer Success, and Specialist teams to ensure comprehensive customer implementation and adoption of solutions.
  • Provide strong technical leadership during client interactions, sharing security trends and best practices utilized by other clients to actively contribute to the sales process.
  • Drive Palo Alto Networks Platformization initiatives within your accounts.
  • Work in tandem with the Domain Specialist Manager to optimize resource utilization and align necessary resources with your projects.
  • Act as a point of escalation to collaborate with pre-sales and post-sales teams for any arising issues.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key clients to solidify reference accounts and assist account teams in developing strategies to drive additional business.
  • Present to clients as the subject matter expert at all levels of the client organization, from technical staff to executive leadership.
  • Engage in discussions regarding competitor products in the market, positioning ours as the superior alternative.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Technical Marketing, and R&D to articulate requirements and product features for our large clients, providing feedback based on client experiences.
  • Expect to travel 50-75% within the region.
  • Work alongside your sales counterpart (DSM) to devise a technical strategy that accelerates growth, identifying key verticals, markets, use cases, and solutions to focus on, and creating a comprehensive strategy and engagement model tailored to your region or district.
Your Experience
  • Demonstrated experience as a pre-sales System Engineer Manager.
  • Background as a Senior System Engineer/Specialist.
  • Industry knowledge of security product market trends and an understanding of our roadmap and technology development efforts, as well as awareness of competitor offerings and products.
  • Expertise in delivering comprehensive security solutions to the Palo Alto Networks customer base.
  • Experience in selling, designing, implementing, or managing one or more of the following solutions: Network Security, SASE, SaaS, CNAPP, and/or SOC Transformation Technologies.
  • Collaboration with Customer Support functions to ensure successful implementation and adoption of sold solutions.
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills.
  • Quota-driven mindset focused on providing clients with the best solutions as a trusted advisor.
  • Proficiency in English.
