About the Role:

The Safety Officer at Rutland Regional Medical Center plays a vital role in ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This position is responsible for enforcing current policies, procedures, and regulations to guarantee appropriate access to the facility. The Safety Officer will conduct regular safety and security checks within and surrounding the facility and respond promptly to any issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce current policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure safe and secure access to the facility.
  • Conduct regular safety and security checks within and surrounding the facility.
  • Respond promptly to any safety and security issues that may arise.
  • Collaborate with staff to identify and mitigate potential safety and security risks.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve safety and security protocols.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a security or door screener role is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in customer service or public-facing role is preferred.
  • Completion of endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification within 3 months of hire.
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Good communication skills and clear thinking to communicate with others.
  • Basic computer skills.

Compensation:

$4.25 - Evenings

$8.00 - Nights

$4.75 - Weekends

Pay Range: $24.17
